Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra: Camera module with new telephoto seen in the wild for the first time

From the mass production lines of Galaxy S24 Ultra, there appears to be an image revealing a modified camera module. This alteration deviates from that of its predecessor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra (found on Amazon). The Vietnamese leaker @chunvn8888 initially posted this photo online. Initially glancing at it reveals four cameras in a similar configuration as seen before forming together for the camera setup within Samsung's upcoming flagship phone- The Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Compared to the Galaxy S23 Ultra, there are differences.

By comparing the camera module from a Galaxy S23 Ultra teardown to its predecessor, it's immediately clear that the noticeable and attention-grabbing periscope component of Samsung's 2023 flagship has been redesigned to be slimmer and have a different shape. The old model had a small 1/3.52-inch sensor with only 10 megapixels, but used an extensive mirror mechanism for providing up to 10x optical zoom. However, their latest offering now features an updated design utilizing much larger optics: specifically boasted as having five times magnification thanks in part due reportedly using twice-as-large pixels at .7um across this rumoured half-2½" inch (0*and*a *half by*two-fifths)50-megapixel set-up rather than prior year models' useage of smaller sensors covering less visual ground area overall..

There are stronger resemblances to the Vivo X100 Pro Telefoto.

The shape of the camera, in addition to its specifications, evokes memories of periscope cameras that offer superior zoom shots at night - a feature prominently showcased by contemporary Chinese flagship smartphones like the Vivo X100 Pro. A closer inspection reveals that beneath the new round lens lies the traditional rectangular periscope lens format. It remains unclear if Samsung has also incorporated a floating element enabling macro shots with their zoom camera as marketing material doesn't mention this telemacro function leak recently surfaced .
